West Virginia (WOAY) Girls across the region are being invited to spend their summer turning pages and earning rewards.

Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council is launching its 2026 Summer Reading Challenge for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The program runs through August 31 and is open to both Girl Scouts and non-members.

Participants can join weekly virtual read-aloud sessions, track their reading progress online, and earn a special Summer Reading Challenge patch by completing their grade-level reading goals.

The cost is $6.00, and registration remains open throughout the summer.
