West Virginia (WOAY) Gas prices in West Virginia are ticking down slightly this week.
According to GasBuddy, the average price for a gallon of gas has dropped nearly five cents, now sitting at $3.92.
Despite the dip, prices are still up more than 48 cents from a month ago and more than 80 cents higher than this time last year.
Across the country, the national average is holding steady at just over $4.00 a gallon, while diesel prices have climbed to $5.61 per gallon.
Drivers in West Virginia are seeing a wide range at the pump, with prices as low as $3.47 and as high as $4.30, a difference of more than 80 cents depending on where you fill up.
In nearby areas, prices are slightly higher in Pittsburgh at $4.16, while Charleston and Virginia are both just under four dollars a gallon.
Analysts say while prices eased late last week, ongoing global tensions could push costs higher again in the days ahead.
