WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Dense fog has been developing across the region this morning. It is slowly beginning to dissipate for most, but will not fully fade until late this morning. Drive slowly and use your low beams when you encounter fog during your commute. After the fog fades, we will have a couple of hours before stormy activity gets going across the region.
Thunderstorms may start mid-afternoon, but activity will peak and become widespread this evening. Heavy rain is possible, which will bring a low-end localized flooding risk to our region. Any water issues will not be as bad as last week, but the chance is there. Storms will remain sub-severe through the day due to a lower amount of available energy through the day. These will be more typical of the summer season, aside from a couple of downpours. Storms eventually fade out overnight, but will not be completely eliminated until later in the forecast. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the latest:
Isolated thunderstorms return to the forecast tomorrow, but conditions will be somewhat different. Temperatures remain in the upper 70s for the afternoon, which is the only similarity aside from storms being present. Rainfall will be a bit lighter due to a slightly lower amount of moisture in the atmosphere, which is good news. However, there will be more available energy in place. As a result, a couple of storms could reach severe criteria during the afternoon and evening. Damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour and small hail are possible, but the chance is lower.
Storms will roll through during the evening, eventually dissipating overnight. The worst of the activity is over, but a stray storm or two may remain through Sunday. Rain chances are minimal across the region, which means most, if not all, of us should stay dry. If a storm or two ends up lasting, it will be weaker and brief. Sunday is definitely the better day to get anything done outside, but there are a couple of better days ahead.

Monday and Tuesday will be absolutely gorgeous. Temperatures stay in the mid- to upper 70s on Monday, only rising by a couple of degrees on Tuesday. Skies remain mostly sunny with no rain in sight, making those two days the best of the bunch this week. Unfortunately, more rain is on the way Wednesday and Thursday. Another round of showers and storms begins Wednesday afternoon, which kicks off a new active pattern across our region. The rain remains isolated on Wednesday before chances increase through the second half of the week. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
