It’s been a rainy Saturday across Southern West Virginia and that rain will come to an end as we head into next week. The rain potential does look to come back though as we head into late week. We are watching the potential for rain that could affect the football games on Friday. There is still heavy disagreement between models how Friday could unfold, the GFS keeps us mainly wet while the European has more scattered shower chances and that is shown below.

The European model not really showing much rainfall across the next 7 days, while the GFS is much more bullish with some people picking up nearly 2 inches of rain. Most of this rain on the European models falls on Saturday, while the majority on the GFS falls on Friday. This is something we will continue to monitor to see exactly where the trends lead as it could lead to either a very rainy Friday football or barely squeaking mostly dry.

We are expecting a small warm up as well as we head into next week, although temperatures won’t be too hot and it won’t last too long. Temperatures go from the mid to upper 70’s early week into the mid 80’s by mid week and then start to cool back down towards the low 80’s as we head from late week into next weekend. Mostly sunny skies look probable for many days next week, although there is a small 20% chance of rain showers Sunday, Monday and potentially Thursday as well. Most people will stay dry and will not see rain, Friday and Saturday look to be different at the current moment.
