WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Rainy conditions last night prompted the National Weather Service to issue several warnings, including a Flash Flood Warning for northern Wyoming and western Raleigh counties until 8 AM. In addition to this warning, a Flood Warning has been issued for Raleigh and southern Fayette counties until 8:45 AM, while the Flood Watch is still in effect for Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Summers, and Tazewell counties until 11 AM. Even as these warnings expire, commuters should watch out for flooded roadways. If you run into a flooded path, do not wade or drive into the waters.
Rain is currently moving out of the region, and all rainfall should conclude by the early afternoon hours. While flooding will slowly recede, conditions this afternoon will improve quickly. By the evening commute, most areas will have sunshine once again. These conditions will last for a couple more days before the next disturbance stops by on Friday. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the latest:
A high-pressure system will move into the region tomorrow morning, extending the dry and comfortable conditions for another day. High temperatures will peak around 75 degrees while skies remain sunny through the day. This system remains in the area through Thursday morning, allowing the sunny conditions to last through most of Thursday. Temperatures will rise into the lower 80s before cloud cover increases for the evening and overnight hours. With the high-pressure system out to our east by Thursday night, we could see showers as early as the wee hours of Friday morning.

A low-pressure system will start approaching the region early Friday morning, bringing rain back into the forecast. Showers and storms on Friday will start off in a scattered manner, likely becoming widespread in the afternoon. This disturbance will stall just to our north between Friday and Saturday, allowing multiple days of widespread rain in the region. The low-pressure system will not move out of the region until late Saturday night, and showers will stick around through Sunday morning at least. If heavy rain ends up impacting the area again, flooding issues could be on the table. We are keeping an eye on this system as the week continues. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
