Flash Freeze Underway, Final Round of Snow Pushing Across Region

The wrap around snow from departing low pressure is producing another bout of accumulation through Tuesday.

Below are the expected snowfall totals, with the heaviest snowfall occurring between 4-8 p.m.

As temperatures drop into the teens, all wet surfaces will become solid ice this evening.

Occasional snow showers are expected through Thursday afternoon, but beyond Tuesday morning, only another 0.5-1.0 inch is expected. The bulk of this accumulation will occur early Thursday as another cold front reinforces the chill.

A southern storm will trigger light snow this weekend. Beyond that, the colder than average temperatures are expected. There is a sign for a pattern change to push the cold weather into the West and the East to warm after Martin Luther King, Jr., weekend (so, the warmth would arrive January 25).
