Following snow and rain showers through midweek and then a hard frost, temperatures will make leaps and strides later this week.
ADDITIONAL SNOW: One report of 0.5″ has surfaced at Snowshoe. Another 2″ of accumulation is expected in western Pocahontas and far northern Greenbrier County with a coating for places like Marlinton and Richwood. Snow will end Wednesday evening.
COLDEST NIGHT OF THE SEASON: Any plants and flowers will suffer cold weather damage during the overnights early this week, BUT Wednesday night into Thursday morning will be the coldest night with widespread 20s.
PATTERN CHANGE: Friday signifies the start of a longer-term warming trend that will likely linger through October 24-25. A cold front will push through Tuesday of next week but a modified Pacific air mass in its wake will only drop the temperatures a few degrees from the 70s into the 60s.
COMET T-ATLAS AND THE SUPERMOON: Thursday and Friday evening offer PERFECTLY clear skies to see both of these features in the evening sky!
