Fayette County Sheriff’s Department investigating single vehicle crash that left one person injured

Robson, WV (WOAY) The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that happened Thursday in the Robson area of Fayette County.

Sheriff Jess McMullen reports that deputies responded near the intersection of Coles Road and Deepwater Mountain Road, where investigators say a white Honda Ridgeline traveled off the roadway and onto nearby railroad tracks.

Officials say the vehicle struck and damaged railroad property and signage before overturning into a creek.

Emergency responders worked to free the driver, who became trapped inside the vehicle.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the driver was flown by medical helicopter to a Charleston-area hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
