Fayette County Humane Society extends free adoption event

Fayetteville, WV (WOAY)—The Fayette County Humane Society (FCHS) is at code red status, meaning it is at total capacity.

The shelter has taken in an additional 30 dogs since its last code-red announcement, including some that are expecting puppies soon.

The shelter’s resources are stretched thin, and they need your help.

Last week, the facility held a free adoption event and was able to find homes for 18 dogs.

FCHS is extending free adoptions starting Tuesday, November 19, through Saturday, November 23.

Anyone who is approved for adoption will be able to take home their furry friend at no charge.

When you adopt an animal from FCHS, it will receive all its age-appropriate vaccines, flea treatment, and deworming.

You will also receive a voucher for your new friend to get fixed.

If you can not accept a new pet in your house but want to support the cause, please consider donating animal supplies like food or litter.

To make an adoption or to drop off supplies, call 304-574-2722 or visit 513 Shelter Road, Fayetteville, WV 25840.
