WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The cold has continued on through January and into February, leaving us with wind chills in the negatives. These cold temperatures have led to a Cold Weather Advisory being issues for the eastern half of our region. This advisory lasts until 9 AM for Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Summers, and Tazewell counties. Eastern Fayette, eastern Nicholas, Pocahontas, and eastern Raleigh counties will have this advisory until 11 AM this morning. Despite cloud cover, temperatures will reach back into the 20s this afternoon. However, this is not the last we have seen of winter. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Our next chance of snow comes Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday morning. A low-pressure system will move through the south, bringing rain and snow into the region on its northern edge. The rain will be brief, switching to snow in the evening and last through the night. Thankfully, snow will be lighter, only reaching the 1-3″ range at its heaviest. The system leave slight accumulations by Wednesday morning before we clear out for a day and a half for the middle of the week. Temperatures will go back to being cold after the brief period of above-freezing temperatures, unfortunately. Here’s a look at the snowfall forecast:

After a few clearer days, the work week ends with another chance of snow. A low-pressure system in Canada will drag snow down into our region, which could switch to a wintery mix if it starts early enough. Lighter accumulations are expected again, but it will likely disrupt travel to end the week. This system is a quick hitter, leaving the area overnight. The weekend will be much better than the last two, finally being all dry and partly sunny. Here’s a look at your 7-Day Forecast:
