Warming and Charging Station to remain open in Richlands

Tazewell County, VA (WOAY) – Richlands residents will continue to have a location to stay warm and charge mobile devices.

Richlands Emergency Management officials have extended the activation of the Warming & Device Charging Station located in the lobby of the Richlands Police Department. The station is available for warming, device charging, and restroom access. 

Extremely low temperatures and wind chill as low as -6 degrees until mid-week led to the decision to keep the warming shelter activated through Friday, February 6, 2026.
