WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): One more round of snow will coat most surfaces between 8-11 p.m. Standing water in parking lots, driveways and sheltered roads will turn to ice tonight, then temperatures will warm starting Friday.
SHORT SUMMARY: The snowfall forecast failed for our region today because the placement of the snow banding was too far west (along and west of I-79). That being said, an upper low will trigger a few snow squalls between 8-11 p.m. that will add up to a dusting to quarter inch. Wet spots will freeze tonight as temperatures drop to 20 degrees and the pavement away from main thoroughfares drops into the upper 20s. Thursday will be another chilly day before 40s return Saturday into next week.
NEXT STORM: Low pressure pushing out of the Ohio Valley will trigger rain Sunday. Enough cold air will be trapped from western Greenbrier County into western Pocahontas County for a period of freezing rain Sunday morning. A milder trend is expected Monday through Wednesday.
