OAK HILL, WV (WOAY)- Do you wanna build a snowman? Well, the city of Oak Hill is hosting its first snowman-building contest.

“We thought this year we trust something new and have a snowman contest for the kids or adults,” said Damita Johnson, Oak Hill City Manager. “We have some snow. And even though it’s a little cold, I know people have been out playing in the snow. So we wanted to give everyone a chance to be honest. So man, and maybe win a little money

The person who builds the winning snowman will win $100. There’s no wrong way to build your snowman, they want to see what you come up with. All you gotta do is get your gear on, head outside, grab some snow, and let your creativity flow!

To participate you must post your picture in the comments section on the original post on their Facebook page. Those who wish to participate without heading out into the cold can visit the post and like their favorite snowman.

The contest will take place from now till January 14th, when submissions and voting will close. Oak Hill’s City Manager explains why they wanted to do this.

“Well, people get if they’re stuck in for a long time, it’s just not it’s just not fun,” explained Johnson. “So this will give kids, especially the kids, a chance to get out, play in the snow. This is a nice night to build snowmen.”
