RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Tamarack has announced its first gallery opening reception of 2025 ‘Chromotosis.’
The vibrancy of the exhibit will lift your spirits, as color evokes feeling and expression for the viewer.
Due to the impending snowstorm, they hope to reschedule the Saturday (January 11th) event for the following weekend. You can find updates on https://www.tamarackwv.com and https://www.facebook.com/@TamarackWV.
“A show packed with color, vibrancy, saturation, just something to brighten up the gray cold weather that’s outside,” said Gallery Manager Gretchen Carr.
According to Carr, the ‘Chromotosis’ exhibit features a variety of mediums — from encaustic, a waxed-based medium to photography, oils, acrylics, as well as some mixed media pieces.
“All of them focus on adding raw pigments to them,” the gallery manager said. “Keeping the colors bright, upping the saturation on a photograph so that things stand out in landscapes and just keeping everything fun and colorful.”
Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, wine, and artwork from Mountain State artists. Carr says they service 42 counties for this show.
“We’re excited to give travelers and locals a chance to come in and see some of the upfront colors that will be hopefully, coming soon in the spring season,” said Carr. “Giving a break from all the snow, rain, and cold outside. Just step in this gallery and feel life come alive.”
The gallery manager is thankful for the community of artisans she gets to serve there.
“Just to be around inspiration and beautiful works every day and see the new and upcoming work that’s coming in in the area,” Carr said.
Immerse yourself in the color and depth of the ‘Chromotosis’ creations.
“Come on out, socialize with the artisans as hopefully they’ll all be here and get to see some beautiful work,” she said.
