Commission approves Fayette County Sheriff’s Office’s request for two more deputies

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Fayette County Commission approved Sheriff Mike Fridley’s request for two more deputies.

With the demands from both courthouse security and other COVID-19 needs, Sheriff Fridley stressed the importance of having more deputies to meet the demands of their typical workload and duties on top of what COVID-19 has presented them.

Now that the commission has approved his request, he will now begin hiring and getting them through the testing they will need.

“It’s just a good opportunity and it’s a good time for me to try to up the man power in my department with what’s all going on,” Fridley said.

The commission used the law enforcement levy funds to help fund these new positions.
