WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today has been a gloomy, cloudy day with a lingering shower or two across the region early. The clouds will fluctuate overnight into Sunday, giving us much of the same weather tomorrow. However, we’ll see an increase in both temperature and storm activity. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has your full 7-Day Forecast:
Monday will start out beautifully with partly sunny skies and temperatures breaking the 70s in the afternoon. However, after the warm front comes through, a cold front will speed its way through the area. The resulting warming will give these storms more power as they approach Monday evening into Monday night. The main concern with these storms is wind damage, though hail is also possible. An isolated spin-up is possible as well, as some rotation may be seen. Here’s our severe weather outlook for Monday Night:
These storms will be weakening overnight and making their way out by Tuesday morning. However, more rain showers will come through the area as the backend of the low pressure system impacts the eastern seaboard. These showers will be weaker, leaving Tuesday night and giving us a break from the rain by Wednesday morning.
We cool off significantly but stay clear as sunny skies will come back for a wonderful Wednesday. Thursday will be even better with temperatures warming up a bit and mostly sunny skies prevailing across the region. Our next rain chance will occur Friday and Saturday as the next low pressure system glides above us to the north. These chances are slight as of now, though we could see some storms with this system with temperatures continuing to warm up back into the 70s.
