Beckley, WV (WOAY) The first Thursday in May marks the National Day of Prayer.
On Thursday, May 7, the community is invited to gather at Word Park in uptown Beckley from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Organizers say the event will feature continuous Scripture readings every ten minutes, open to anyone who would like to participate.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair and spend time listening throughout the day.
This annual tradition has been held in uptown Beckley since 2011.
