Beckley, WV (WOAY) A new hometown tradition is kicking off in Word Park.
Community members are invited to celebrate the first-ever Hometown Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 1, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
The city will induct legendary West Virginia artists into the Hall of Fame, including Bill Withers, Hazel Dickens, Calvin Simon, Little Jimmy Dickens, and Everett Lilly.
The afternoon will feature live music from Matt Mullins and The Holler Generals as organizers celebrate local talent and community pride.
The event is part of the 2026 Appalachian Festival and is free and open to the public.
