Hilltop, WV (WOAY) There is a new educational exhibit celebrating Black history in Summers County, thanks to grant funding and assistance from a local museum.
The Campbell-Flannagan-Murrell (CFM) House Museum is hosting the exhibit in Fayette County at the Hilltop Baptist Center all month long.
The West Virginia Humanities Council allocated the funding for the mobile exhibit, which has been on tour throughout the Mountain State for the past four years.
The exhibit focuses on Black history in Summers County from pre-Civil War to the present day through photographs.
CFM Board member Lynda Lancaster will be on the scene at the exhibit on February 28 as an oral resource for the exhibit.
The Campbell-Flannagan-Murrell House Museum in Hinton is open for tours by appointment and on Saturdays, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
