Bud’s Recycling Co Op hosting Winter Gathering on Saturday January 17 to raise awareness and celebrate WV Hive Social Enterprise of the Year Award

Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) A Fayette County recycling co-op is earning recognition for its impact on the community and the environment.

The WV Hive has named Bud’s Recycling Co-op as its 2025 Social Enterprise of the Year.

Founded early last year, the co-op provides residents in Fayetteville, Oak Hill, and surrounding areas with a way to recycle unsorted materials not accepted by local trash haulers.

Members receive weekly pickup service at homes, businesses, and schools, to help keep thousands of pounds of recyclable material out of landfills.

WV Hive Regional business advisor Devon Fitzgerald says Bud’s is reshaping sustainability in Fayette County by making recycling accessible, convenient, and community-driven.

The co op plans to expand into glass recycling and composting as part of its long-term environmental mission.

To celebrate the award and raise awareness, Bud’s Recycling Co-op is hosting its first-ever Winter Gathering on Saturday, January 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Three Gables Club.

The free event includes live music, a chili bar, and a silent auction, but you must register in advance to attend.

Visit Bud’s Recycling Co-op’s website for more information and check out Eventbrite to register for the Winter Gathering.
