Registration deadline extended to May 31 for GEAR UP Southern West Virginia Summer Camps at Concord University and WVU Tech

West Virginia (WOAY) GEAR UP Southern West Virginia is giving families more time to register for its remaining 2026 summer camps.

Officials say the registration deadline has been extended to May 31st for two overnight college experience camps that still have limited spots available.

One of those opportunities is Concord Cool Academy: Tracks to the Future, happening June 16-19 at Concord University.

Students will be able to explore career-focused tracks, including fine arts, creative writing, education, sports medicine, and nursing.

The second camp is the GEAR UP Southern West Virginia and WVU Tech STEM Camp, scheduled for June 29 to July 1.

Students attending the overnight camp will participate in hands-on environmental science and STEM activities while experiencing college life on campus.

Organizers say the camps are designed to help students explore career paths, build confidence, and prepare for the future.

Families are encouraged to register soon, as space remains limited.

Visit gearupswv.org for more information and to register.
