Beckley, WV (WOAY)- It’s almost time to dive into summer vacation and your local pool!
The Sharon Dempsey pool at New River Park is preparing to open, but this year, it’s kicking things off with an abbreviated schedule.
The pool will open for two weekends before the whole summer season begins.
Opening day will be Saturday, May 31, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The pool will open on Sunday, June 1, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The pool will open again on the following weekend: Saturday, June 7, from 11 to 6 and Sunday, June 8, from 1 to 6.
The regular summer hours start on June 10.
The pool will open Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., until August 9.
The concession stand will be open, but no hot food will be served this season.
The Black Knight Pool will remain closed this summer.
Here’s a quick look at admission prices: children ages 4 to 17 get in for $4.50, adults pay $5.50, and seniors pay $4.50
The cost to enjoy the pool and slide is $7 for kids and seniors and $8 for adults.
