Beckley, WV (WOAY)- The Beckley Police Department (BPD) is now accepting applications for its annual junior police academy.
There will be two sessions, one from June 23-26 and another from July 7-10
The program is open to 11-14-year-olds enrolled at Beckley Stratton and Park Middle Schools in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.
5th graders enrolled in any feeder elementary schools may also apply.
Shady, Indy, or Trap Hill Middle School students are also encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to students in Beckley, depending on enrollment numbers.
With two classes being offered, BPD hopes to be able to get everyone in who applies.
Applications are available online at beckley.org.
Applications are also available for pickup at the Beckley police department and at Beckley Stratton and Park middle schools.
