Beckley,WV (WOAY) The BEX Outdoor Art Fair is returning to downtown Beckley this Saturday, July 25, with an evening celebrating local art, music, and community.
The free event runs from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and features live performances by regional musicians, including the annual Young Musician Showcase presented by Silverdale Studios, as well as Hannah and Her Empty Orchestra, Deathreads, The Untrained Professionals, Dr. Scientist, and Lady D.
Visitors can also check out the “Modern Masters” pop-up art show on Neville Street.
The Rizo-Bickey pop-up art show features acclaimed living artists from the Rizo collection, many of whom are considered leaders in the contemporary art world and whose works are displayed in major museum collections. Â
Attendees can also view the local premiere of the solo show “Echoes,” an original production written and performed by Samantha Ingram at the Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre at 6:00 pm.
The production is inspired by the life of Ingram’s grandmother, Jessie Halsey, and follows her life as a woman growing up in mid-century Appalachia.
Organizers say the event will also feature local artists, food vendors, and interactive experiences throughout downtown.
