WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): We start off with mostly sunny skies this morning before cloud coverage increases and turns into thunderstorms and showers in the afternoon. Isolate downpours are expected across the region, which may cause some issues in areas with poor drainage, especially if multiple downpours hit the same area multiple times. These storms and showers will last through the evening and slowly dissipate into the night, giving us a bit of a break before more activity begins tomorrow. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
As we go through the rest of the work week, rain chances will decline behind the front. However, we’ll still see some scattered thunderstorms and showers Thursday while Friday will be mostly dry besides a few pop-up showers. The next event will be this coming weekend as a stronger cold front approaches on Saturday and pushes through the region on Sunday, bringing more storms. Some of these storms have potential for downpours and may be strong, but they will be more typical for the summer months. Make sure you stay weather aware through the next few days as storms develop, especially this weekend. Here’s a look at the 7-Day Forecast:

Next week will bring a major cooldown to a lot of the eastern and central United States, including our neck of the woods. We’ll drop from the lower 80s to the upper 60s over the next week or so, making for a pleasant start to the next work week. We’ll also stay dry for the first few days of the next week, so look forward to some nice early Autumn weather! Here’s a look at the 6-10 Day Temperature Outlook:
