WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A mild start to the morning will be followed up by rainy conditions later in the afternoon. A low-pressure system will pass through the Great Lakes today, dropping some scattered showers into the area and lasting through the evening. Rainfall will be lighter as a result of limited moisture in the atmosphere, meaning we will not have to deal with much disruption to our day besides carrying an umbrella this afternoon. This event is just the start of an active second half of the week, which means you will need to hang onto the umbrellas and raincoats. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Tomorrow will bring heavier rain and possible thunderstorms as low-pressure moves through the region. While there may be small breaks in the weather, storms and showers will be present through the day. Instability in the atmosphere likely brings us our first thunderstorms of the year. There is potential for a stronger storm or two to bring heavy rain and gusty winds, but severe weather stays to our west for this event. Rainy conditions will last overnight and linger into Friday morning before the next low-pressure system passes by, dragging the stormy conditions away from the region. A few isolated showers are possible Friday afternoon and Saturday, but the weather will stay a bit calmer over those couple of days.

Temperatures will start to drop on Saturday as cold air pushes the warmer air from the Gulf away from our area. Cold air takes hold on Sunday, bringing us back to the realities of winter. Along with the temperature drop, the next round of widespread activity is on Sunday. Snow from the Great Lakes is becoming more likely to end the weekend, but many factors are still up in the air. A mix of rain and snow is likely for most of the region Sunday afternoon before switching to all snow in the evening and overnight. Snow lingers Monday morning before conditions clear up for a couple of days. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
