We’re seeing plenty of clouds, and at 2 p.m., patchy dense fog was being reported in areas along Route 19 between Beckley and Oak Hill and along Interstate 64/77 between Beckley and Mossy.

Elsewhere around the region, rain was falling in the Greenbrier Valley, and hail was possible with some of the showers there.

Later tonight, some snow could mix in with the rain in the higher elevation locations, although any accumulations of snow will be small.

Today is the second of three cloudy and wet days around the region. With cold air being pulled into the region from the north, temperatures tomorrow will be well below the normal, only topping out in the middle 40s – around 20 degrees colder than the average! But much better weather takes us through the second half of the weekend. Sunday will be a much nicer day than Saturday, as highs will get to around 60 degrees with abundant sunshine.
As we go into the next work week, temperatures will continue to rise and highs will be in the middle 70s on Monday. But that’s the only day that sees such warmth. A cold front swings through the region and gives us a good chance for showers and storms beginning Monday evening. Some of these could be on the strong side, and the Storm Prediction Center has placed areas just off to our northwest in a 15% risk for severe storms.

By the middle of next week, we’ll see a couple of sunny and seasonable days. Then, another shot of cool air comes at the end of the forecast with another front, giving us another chance for showers on Good Friday.
