It’s been a pretty reasonable day across Southern West Virginia today, a couple random showers have moved through with more showers possible tonight. Most people will remain dry, but again some light showers are still possible mainly south of I64. Wednesday morning looks to be quiet and clear again, but once we head into Wednesday afternoon, scattered thunderstorms look likely to develop and some of these could produce very heavy rainfall due to a very moist environment. These will move from the southwest to northeast, but will not hit everybody. Heavy rainfall is possible with these which has prompted the Weather Prediction Center to put our entire area inside of a Marginal Risk of flash flooding. It’s not a huge concern like last Sunday, but the areas that usually have high water could have some again at any time Wednesday-Saturday.
 
The European model has expanded the area that could recieve in between 1-2 inches of rain from yesterday and now includes parts of Wyoming, Summers and McDowell Counties. Locally higher rainfall amounts are possible and will be mainly in areas that recieve multiple repeated downpours from thunderstorms.
Taking a look at the full 7 day forecast, the temperatures remain very steady. High temperatures shouldn’t reach the mid to upper 80’s across most of the area, but some lower elevation places could. The low temperatures will remain very steady as well with the cloud cover overnight being one of the main reasons. The chance for thunderstorms are definitely possible each day as a low pressure system will be across the Southern USA, bringing that potential for our area. No day will be a washout, and the rain chance looks highest during the early to late afternoon with mornings and nights looking to remain clear.
