Beckley, WV (WOAY) A local podcast is getting up close and personal with the community as they prepare for a live show in Beckley.
Hosts Rodney Sorrell and Curtis Adams are bringing their podcast, Square Bidness, to the Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre on May 16th at 6:00 p.m.
The show focuses on positive storytelling, highlighting local trailblazers and meaningful conversations that often go unheard.
This live, interactive event will center on community healing, featuring guests Michelle Tunstalle, Trina Tellez, and Quartney Settle, all professionals in the mental health field.
Organizers say the goal is to create a space for connection, conversation, and growth within the community.
Sorrell says, “The purpose of the podcast was to bring positive media to the community, as we consume so much negative media every day.
He further states, “We figured if we did something good, highlight people doing great work, then we’re pouring something positive back into the community.”
The event will also include a live Q-and-A, giving audience members a chance to take part in the conversation.
Tickets are $10 and will be available for purchase at the door. There will be free admission for children.
If you can’t make it in person, the show will be recorded and shared on the podcast’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
