Annual West Virginia Bridge Design and Build Competition saw students all over compete

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – The Annual West Virginia Bridge Design and Build Competition saw students from around the state gather at WVU Tech in Beckley this weekend.

According to the West Virginia Division of Highways, who held the competition, twenty-nine schools participated.

Students tested their engineering skills on physical models and software design, preparing them for a possible career in engineering.

Emma Vincent and Ellie Burns of Greenbrier East High School won first place in the digital competition for high schoolers.

Arabella Webb of Eastern Greenbrier Middle School won first place in the middle school physical design competition. It is her third winning year in a row.

Lucia Lipton and Sal Marks of Eastern Greenbrier Middle School placed second.
