Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) Two men were arrested and charged following the shooting deaths of two dogs.

According to magistrate court records, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to a disturbance call on Saturday, April 4, at a Cemetery Road residence in Fayetteville.

The caller, identified as Bruce Fedukovich, alleged that his neighbors’ two pitbulls were after his chickens, further reporting that he shot and killed the dogs.

He further stated that his neighbor, and the dogs’ owner, John Norman, was on his property, issuing threats following the shooting.

Authorities arrived on the scene, interviewing both men.

Fedukovich told police that when he woke up that morning, he saw the dogs on his property and heard his chickens making a commotion.

He stated he grabbed his gun and went outside, where he saw a brindle pitbull running up a hill, away from his property, and proceeded to shoot the dog, which died in the roadway.

Fedukovich further reported that the other dog, a tan pitbull, was not on his property, but he shot and killed it as well.

Norman, heard the gunshots and angrily confronted Fedukovich.

Fedukovich then reports that he then sprayed an entire can of pepper spray in Norman’s face and eyes, out of fear.

Norman then told Fedukovich, “I can eat that for breakfast,” and then urged him to shoot him, too.

Authorities requested EMS to provide Norman with medical treatment due to the pepper spray, but he refused.

During the police’s interview with Fedukovich, Norman remained in the roadway, threatening the suspect and trying to engage him in a physical altercation.

Authorities had to detain Norman, urging him to calm down and return to his residence.

Irate, Norman refused police commands, which resulted in officers arresting him and transporting him to Plateau Medical Center for medical clearance.

After he was cleared by a doctor, he was taken to Southern Regional Jail, charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and stalking/harassment.

Norman has been released after posting a $3,000 bond.

An investigation into the incident revealed that at the time of the shooting, the dogs were not aggressive and posed no threat to the livestock.

Fedukovich was arrested and charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty.

He has been released after posting a $20,000 bond.
