Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Youth Outdoor Adventure Camp partners with Active SWV to host stand up paddleboard course for middle schoolerson July 14

Beckley, WV (WOAY) Middle school students looking for a summer adventure can soon hit the water at Lake Stephens. 

The Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority’s Youth Outdoor Adventure Program is partnering with Active Southern West Virginia to host a beginner-friendly stand-up paddleboarding event on July 14 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. 

Students entering grades 6-8 will receive instruction from experienced staff before taking part in a guided group paddle on the lake.

Paddleboards and equipment will be provided, and participants are encouraged to wear water-friendly clothing and bring a towel, water, and sunscreen. 

Space is limited, and advance registration is required through the Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority.
