WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): This morning has been a great start to the day, and temperatures will be rising into the mid- to upper-70s this afternoon. However, more scattered showers are expected to develop later in the day. Not everyone will receive rain today, but an umbrella may become useful this afternoon and evening when showers do develop. These showers will be lighter, dissipating in the evening and overnight hours. However, we are not done with the rain by a long shot. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
A cold front will attempt to pass through the region tomorrow, but will likely dissipate before passing by. Despite this, widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected in the region for most of the day. There is an isolated severe weather risk in the northern half of the state. There is a chance for a few gusty storms to end up in Nicholas and Pocahontas counties, but our area is trending to steer clear of the strongest storms impacting the state. These showers and storms will finally start to break up overnight, but that will not signal the end of rainy conditions this week.
Thursday and Friday will be similar, as both days are trending towards scattered showers and storms in the region. Friday’s chances are a bit higher due to another low-pressure system scraping by the eastern side of the country before moving into Canada. Either way, the umbrellas and rain jackets will continue to be useful through the week.

This weekend will, yet again, not be any relief from the rainy conditions. While the rain is mostly helpful this time of year, it will impede weekend plans once again. Saturday will bring more scattered showers to the region before the next cold front finally breaks through on Sunday. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to start late Easter morning, meaning Easter egg hunts and other plans may be affected. It’s a good idea to make an indoor backup for any outdoor plans as soon as possible so you can stay dry. Temperatures will also dip, though we are not going to be as cold as St. Patrick’s Day. By Monday, most rain will finally move out, making for a calmer start to next week. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
