Rainy start to the week, with a warm and dry end

We’re looking at a couple of rainy days ahead before we kick off America’s birthday celebration. Along with the showers, warm and steamy conditions will continue across the region.

Daily rain chances are in the forecast from Monday through Wednesday, with those three days bringing our best shot at scattered showers and storms. Tuesday looks like the coolest day of the week, with highs dipping into the upper 70s—slightly below average for this time of year. The rest of the week, however, temperatures are expected to run 1 to 5 degrees above normal, generally ranging from the low to mid-80s.

It’ll be a bit soggy as we move through the early and middle part of the workweek, but we’ll dry out just in time for the Fourth of July. Expect warm, dry conditions by Thursday, making it a great setup for backyard BBQs, fireworks, and all the festivities.
