Welch, WV (WOAY)- The 4th annual Coalfields Cookoff kicks off on Friday, June 6-7 in McDowell County.
The event, hosted in the city of Welch at the Martha Moore Park, will feature professional and backyard BBQ cook teams competing head-to-head for a prize purse totaling over $13,000.
The Kansas City BBQ Society sanctions the anticipated community event.
Attendees can expect live music, several family-friendly games, a beer garden, a ticketed BBQ tasting event, ATV/SXS activities, and more.
You will need to purchase tickets to taste the BBQ, which are $10 per adult, and kids eat free.
A five-dollar discount is available for veterans and first responders.
