What you need to know before you go to the polls to vote in the 2026 Primary Election

West Virginia (WOAY) Election Day in West Virginia is Tuesday, May 12, and the last day to vote early is Saturday, May 9. 

Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m until 7:30 p.m on Election Day, although officials remind voters that polling locations could change in the case of emergencies. 

Early voting polls close at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

West Virginia voters casting ballots in person during early voting or on Election Day are required to show a valid form of identification.

Acceptable IDs include a West Virginia driver’s license or state ID card with your photo on it.
