New Roots Community Farm hosting 3rd Annual Spring Fling event on May 9

Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) New Roots Community Farm is inviting the community to get together and celebrate the return of spring!

The farm’s 3rd Annual Spring Fling is Saturday, May 9, from noon to 4:00 pm.

The family-friendly event is free and open to everyone with live demos, live music, and kid-friendly activities to keep your little ones entertained.

Youth activities will be available all day, teaching kids about indigo dyeing and veggie block printing, and cardmaking.

Visitors can expect demonstrations on willow basket weaving, the basics of fermenting saurkraut, and growing your own oyster mushrooms.

New Roots’ executive director will lead an exclusive tour of the future location of their expanded market, teaching kitchen, and gathering space.

Shoppers will have access to buy local goods at the artisan market, which will be open all day.
