FAYETTE W.Va. (WOAY) — Midland trail received $15 million to fund the construction of a brand new elementary school.
Jim justice and the rest of the WV School Building Authority approved $111 million to be awarded to nineteen counties in the mountain state, with every penny going towards education.
“They go through an entire process and everything, and then they make recommendations, and this was part of the $111 million that SBA just awarded last year,” Jim Justice said.
Being that this is the largest annual award since 2011, it shows the importance of education.
Justice believes that building up education is one of the best ways to bring people into the state.
“The number one thing people want is they say, tell me about the schools where my kids are going to go to school when they look at moving and coming to West Virginia. Second thing they look at is they say, standard of life what about the roads,” Justice said
