Wyoming County Deputies seize 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop

Pineville, WV (WOAY)- Three people are in custody for drug and gun charges following a routine traffic stop in Wyoming County.

According to an official press release from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, on Friday, March 14, Corporal Tucker Cook stopped a 2015 Green Chevy Silverado in the East Pineville area.

During the stop, Cook discovered the driver did not have a valid driver’s license and reported the driver appeared nervous while speaking with him.

There were two female passengers in the car.

K9 Deputy Matthew Perry and K9 Cain arrived at the scene to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle.

K9 Cain indicated that something was hidden in the vehicle, leading to a further search.

Deputies discovered a hidden compartment containing 690 grams or 1.52 pounds of methamphetamine, two firearms, and $690 in cash.

The driver of the vehicle, Jamie Owens, and one of the passengers, Rachel Gibson, were arrested for possession with intent to deliver and drug conspiracy.

Deputies arrested Rose Robertson was arrested for felony possession of a firearm.

Robertson has a prior felony charge for nighttime burglary.
