Princeton, WV (WOAY)-We have an important update from WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital.
Following yesterday’s temporary power disruption, the hospital is now operating under near-normal conditions, thanks to its redundant generator systems.
These backup systems fully support hospital operations and closely mimic normal power.Â
Permanent power is expected to be restored by this afternoon, provided there are no unforeseen delays.
In the meantime, temperatures and humidity levels throughout the facility, including patient rooms, are stabilizing and are expected to return to normal.Â
All outpatient services, including imaging, mammography, infusion, cardiac catheterization, and lab services, are set to operate on a normal schedule today, with very few exceptions.
The Emergency Department and Women’s Center remain fully open.Â
Elective surgeries are expected to resume by midday.
Patients will be contacted if any appointments need to be rescheduled; otherwise, plan to arrive as scheduled.Â
WVU Medicine gives a heartfelt thank you to the hospital staff for their professionalism and to Appalachian Electric Power, SWOPE, and Harry’s Electric for their rapid response.
WVU Medicine will continue to share updates as needed.Â
