Welch, WV (WOAY)-If you’re looking for a career in public safety, listen up!
The West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation (WVDCR) is hosting a hiring event this Tuesday, July 15th.
The event will be at Stevens Correctional Center and Jail in Welch from 9 a.m. To 3 p.m.
They’re hiring for both uniformed and non-uniformed roles, including multiple levels of correctional officers and counselors.
Commissioner David Kelly is encouraging West Virginians who want to make a difference to attend and explore a career that supports the safety of our communities.
Applicants should bring a valid driver’s license, social security card, diploma, and any relevant transcripts or military documents.
Background checks and drug screenings are required before hire.
Full-time positions come with a comprehensive benefits package worth nearly $13,700.
