West Virginia (WOAY)—The West Virginia Department of Agriculture (WVDA) is accepting applications from farmers and vendors interested in participating in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Low-income senior citizens can receive vouchers to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, honey, and herbs from participating farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and community-supported agriculture programs.
Farmers wishing to participate in the program must apply by April 15.

Eligible seniors ages 60 and over can sign up for the program at their local senior centers after June 1.
