CHARLESTON, WV (WOAY) – Woodrow Wilson is headed to the Class AAA semifinals after a 44-37 win over Morgantown Wednesday in Charleston.
In a rematch from the Big Atlantic Classic, the game would start as a defensive contest, but Beckley gained momentum to take a 22-17 lead at halftime. However, Morgantown would quickly respond after the break to take the lead, but the Lady Flying Eagles outscored the Mohigans 16-7 in the fourth to win.
Liz Cadle scored 20 points for Woodrow Wilson, while Victoria Staunton added four points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Flying Eagles await the winner of Thursday’s quarterfinal between Greenbrier East & Martinsburg; the semifinal is scheduled for 9:00 PM Friday.
