Greenbrier County, WV (WOAY) – 44-year-old Avanibahen Patel of Ronceverte has been sentenced to 6 months in federal prison for unlawful employment of aliens.
Patel and her husband hired a citizen of India for her business in Fairlea.
Patel said she and her husband knew the employee was here in the U.S. illegally due to his visa expiring.
Patel’s husband, Rajesh N. Patel, was sentenced on January 9 to three years of federal probation and fined $10,000 for his guilty plea to transporting an illegal alien.
