Wintry Mix this Morning; More Rain Tomorrow

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A mix of rain and snow will push through the region this morning, which could cause some slick spots in the region. Sticking accumulation is not expected thanks to above-freezing temperatures, but some slicks spots will form through the morning commute. These showers will move through by the early afternoon, leaving us damp and gloomy for the rest of the day. However, we are not done with the weather yet. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

More rain moves in by Thursday morning, falling widespread across the region. With the steady rain lasting through most of the day, some minor flooding is become likely. This would consist of ponding of water on the roads and overflowing of vulnerable streams and creeks. While this will not be like the Valentine’s Weekend storm of 2025, you should still be weather aware. If you see a flooded roadway, turn around, don’t drown!

The rain will last through the day before slowly dissipating overnight into Friday morning. After the rain moves away from the region, conditions will calm down and become warmer Friday and Saturday. By Saturday, temperatures will inch towards the 60-degree mark. Mostly sunny skies along with these temperatures will make for a wonderful day to get out and enjoy. Sunday will be nice as well, but will be slightly cooler and cloudier. The active weather is poised to return on Monday in the form of more wintry mix from a larger storm.
