WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The morning has started with a wintery landscape of snow and frigid temperatures across the region. Wind chills are in the negatives in some spots with none reaching into the double digits across our region. More snow will fall as scattered showers pass through this morning and afternoon. The snow will dissipate, but cold temperatures remain through the night thanks to the shot of cold air we have received from Canada. Over the next week, temperatures will be significantly below average, which will warrant all the winter gear you have. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Friday will be mostly calm and cold with a slight chance of a rogue snow shower in the afternoon. Overnight into Saturday morning is when the next main event comes in, as another low-pressure system will pass through. More snow will fall and accumulate across the region, causing more disruptions for Saturday morning commutes. The snow will eventually dissipate at night after falling for most of the day. Snow totals are trending similarly to what we have gotten today, but could be a bit more in the higher mountains of our region.

From Sunday on, conditions will clear up gradually. However, the cold is here to stay. Low temperatures will be in the teens and single digits while highs will be inching up into the 20s on most afternoons. Despite the sun, not much relief from the cold is coming. High pressure will keep things dry and allow the cold to linger a bit longer before finally starting to move away on Wednesday, as temperatures improve to above freezing for the first time in a bit.
