West Virginia (WOAY)- The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) announces the last resident-only firearms and archery/crossbow season for wild boar opens on February 7-9.
Hunters living in Boone, Logan, Raleigh, and Wyoming counties only have an opportunity to harvest a wild boar of either sex.
However, only one wild boar can be taken in a year, and hunters must register the boar within 24 hours of harvest.
Shooting hours will be a half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset.
The WVDNR reminds hunters they cannot use dogs, bait, and electronic calls during this season.
