Widespread Rain; Better Weekend Weather

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The morning starts with some light showers and cloudy skies across the region, making for a soggy morning commute. Steady rainfall will continue through the afternoon and evening as the low-pressure system approaches and eventually passes through the region. Rainfall totals over the next two days will be between three-quarters of an inch and an inch and a half over the next two days. Most rainfall will be beneficial, but some minor flooding may occur due to poor drainage in some areas. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

The showers will start to weaken tomorrow afternoon, but won’t fully dissipate until midday on Friday. These showers will linger into Friday morning, but rainfall will be lighter as we end the work week. By Friday evening, skies will be partly sunny and little to no rainfall will remain. This makes for decent, albeit damp, trick-or-treating weather. Temperatures remain chilly, so make sure to have layers with your attire whether you go out for candy or sit in the bleachers for another week of high school football games.

The weekend will be mostly dry, giving us a decent break from the rain. Saturday will be the better day by a slight margin, but the next bout of rainfall does not pop in until very late Sunday. This next chance of rain is thanks to another system dipping into the southern states, bringing some scattered showers into the region on Monday. After the first day of the work week, the rain will leave and skies will be mostly sunny skies. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
