West Virginia set to receive millions of dollars supporting the American coal industry

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia is set to receive a portion of 700 million dollars in federal funding targeted at supporting the American coal industry.

Four hundred and twenty-five million dollars is being spent to upgrade power plants in several states, including West Virginia. The Wheeling Power Company will receive some of those funds.

West Virginia will also supply the coal. 14,000 energy jobs are expected to be supported and created nationwide.
