Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Now that Bridge Day 2026 is in the books, let’s take a look at all the numbers from this year.
Tim Naylor, the executive assistant of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, stated that this year saw 386 base jumps. This is about half of normal, but some jumpers decided not to jump due to the high winds this past Saturday.
The rappel had over 500 descents and 24 ascents, with ages ranging from 16 to 80.
Active Southern West Virginia had 515 racers finish the 5k run.
The Taste of Bridge Day did see about half the number of attendees as they saw last year, due to the weather.
Also, in great news, Jan Care did not have a single call all day! There were no injuries to jumpers or guests on the bridge!
